Coming Soon, at the beginning of March, Burning At Both Ends (SR Records). This is the second step of an ambitious project aimed at highlighting Elvis's rock side in the 1970s. For this second step, we are proud to present the most successful rocking single in the seventies: Burning Love.

The new SR will feature the first three LP sides with the complete closing show of the April&May 1975 tour, surely one of the best of the year, recorded at Murfreesboro, TN, on May 07, 197,5 while the fourth side is dedicated to an analysis of the song Burning Love, with its development first explored in the studio and then in concert.

The first three sides of the vinyl present a Soundboard recording of the Murfreesboro show, which was previously released on CD, but this is the first time on vinyl format, and it has been remastered from the analog mono source, which will present an incredibly superior sound. The last side of the vinyl allows the listener to enjoy an incredible sound while exploring the evolution of the song. 

The SR intends to present Elvis at the peak of his career. Elvis’ Burning Love March 1972 recording, combined with the Murfreesboro May 1975 show, is undoubtedly the best moment of both years, presenting him at the top of his game, delivering a great studio session and a great show. The performance presents Elvis with a renovated Rocker attitude. Likewise, the recording is of good quality, with a clear, clean sound and well-defined instruments. But importantly, this is the only complete soundboard of the tour.

The April&May concert presents us with a rediscovered Elvis who, although overweight, faces the stage with a newfound rock attitude. We can call the Burning Love Tour, because Elvis performed the song in almost all 18 shows. The song was recorded in March 1972. The song was performed twice during the April 1972 tour and was the highlight of the November 1972 tour. It then disappeared after the Aloha TV special. 1975 represents the song's comeback, and together with Elvis’s rocker side, it will be performed until April 1976.

The show is great and now consists of a solid collection, although Elvis dropped some of the recently recorded songs. The range of Elvis’ performance is still extensive, with his rocking side performed in the show, including the 1972 Burning Love, the new T:R:O:U:B:L:E: without forgetting the now classic, and highly challenging vocal Bridge Over Troubled Water, which, without doubt, represents the highlight of the show.

This new SR Special Product will be housed in a deluxe 300-gram sleeve that includes the double 150-gram vinyl and a Bonus card.

Near the start of his final tour of 1974, Elvis performed in South Bend Indiana for two nights starting on 30 September. Elvis was in better health and humour for the second concert, presented here, even throwing in a spontaneous performance of ‘Steamroller Blues’ as a crowd request.

Revealing the true atmosphere of this October 1st show MRS have remastered and mixed this concert into STEREO for the first time ever.

The accompanying booklet features rare photographs and memorabilia from the event and also includes liner notes that set the scene.

Previously released by FTD on 'Dragonheart' but the show was edited.

This set contains no fewer than two (!) different gatefold sleeves, each containing an LP. These LPs feature the concerts from March 14th and 19th, 1974. Both LPs are pressed on different colored vinyl. As a bonus, a 45-RPM vinyl single is included, pressed on blue vinyl. Incidentally, this vinyl single has a different sleeve than the 33-RPM LPs. So, truly great value for money. This is a magnificent set!

Doc Pomus was a songwriter’s songwriter, crafting lyrics that have stood the test of time. You Can’t Hip A Square: The Doc Pomus Songwriting Demos is a masterclass in songwriting through the lens of Doc Pomus’ career and via previously unheard demos largely sung by his writing partner, Mort Shuman. You Can’t Hip A Square traces Doc and his songwriting partners’ careers across the beloved rock, pop and R&B hits that became 20th century standards. Songs like, “A Teenager In Love,” “Viva Las Vegas,” “Lonely Avenue,” “Save The Last Dance For Me,” “This Magic Moment,” recorded by artists like Elvis Presley, Lou Reed, The Drifters, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beach Boys, Ray Charles, The Coasters, Dionne Warwick, Dion, The Everly Brothers, Linda Ronstadt, and more! The lists of songs and artists who recorded them goes on and on.

Now, for the first time, the demo acetates kept by Doc and cared for by his daughter Sharyn Felder, have been carefully transferred, restored, mastered, and assembled into a 6-CD / Digital boxed set that includes some of the biggest hits of Doc’s career in demo form as well as a treasure trove of previously unheard, unknown songs that were left behind and never cut by any artist. It’s a remarkable collection of ‘what ifs’ of late ’50s and ’60s popular music. Is it possible one of the songs left behind could have hit #1 had it been cut by a popular artist like Elvis?

Co-produced by Sharyn Felder, publisher Will Bratton, and Omnivore’s multiple Grammy Award-winning producer Cheryl Pawelski, the collection also features a main liner note essay by Geoffrey Himes with additional side notes by Sharyn Felder, Peter Guralnick, Eddie Gorodetsky, Will Bratton, and Cheryl Pawelski. Restoration and mastering were handled by multiple Grammy Award-winning engineer Michael Graves and Jordan McLeod at Osiris Studio. The packaging includes ephemera from the estate, photos from throughout Doc’s life and pictures of choice acetates and sheet music all in a 48-page hardbound book.
