In Person Justified and Stripped

Elvis In Person August 1969 "Justified and Stripped" is a rebuilt and reimagined version of Elvis Presley’s In Person at the International Hotel, compiled from live recordings captured in August 1969 during his legendary return to the stage. The audio is sourced from the 2008 FTD release and has been carefully separated, reconstructed, and remixed to create a new listening experience focused entirely on Elvis and his band. Bonus tracks from the end of the original FTD release have been inserted into the album sequence to present a more complete picture of Elvis on stage in 1969.
This version removes the orchestra entirely, placing the spotlight on the raw fire, drive, and connection between Elvis and the musicians who helped redefine his live sound in 1969. Elvis’s voice now sits further forward in the mix, allowing his phrasing, attack, and control to come through with greater presence. The drums have been given more punch and clarity, the bass has been tightened for greater momentum, and the guitar has been driven harder to reflect the aggressive edge of the performances.
Eight years removed from regular live performing, Elvis returned in August 1969 not as a nostalgia act, but as a fully revitalized force, commanding the stage with confidence and intensity. These performances prove that time away had not dulled Elvis’s instincts, timing, or charisma, and that he remained the most exciting live performer on the planet; tougher, faster, and more dangerous at the moment of rebirth.
