Roy Rogers and Dale Evens, Elvis, and Johny Cash were my most memorable performers, but there were many others.
My family moved from Houston to High Point, NC in 1972 (talk about culture shock) and I have missed the big city ever since.
My career brought me back to Houston four times a year and to every other big city in America. I love our country and ALL of its beautiful cities, all of our beautiful people!
I recently met up with an old friend from High School and she is now taking care of her autistic brother. Autism affects everyone differently. Turns out, he is a HUGE ELVIS fan! It's one thing he can really focus on! I am looking forward to telling him about my experience seeing ELVIS in the ASTRODOME!
I saw Elvis in the ASTRODOME during a Rodeo in 1970! I can still see Elvis taking off his white satin belt with tassels and throwing it into the stands. In my mind, I can still see it in slow motion as the belt floated in the air over the crowd until it reached arm's length where it was quickly snatched out of the air by dozens of screaming women who, most likely, ripped the belt into many, many pieces!
Over 500 concerts, 50 of which were the Dead, but only one ELVIS show and I can't even find a set list much less a recording of the show.
Please let me know what you can do to help. I think her autistic brother, Brian, would really enjoy it.
Please let me know if you have a set list and possibly a recording of Elvis from his Rodeo in the Astrodome in 1970??
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you,
